College Fee

The State ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ of New York instituted the College Fee in order to provide funds, which would guarantee payment of bonds that the Dormitory Authority borrowed to build residence halls on State ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ campuses. In 1997-98, the SUNY Board of Trustees distributed debt service obligations and College Fee revenue to individual campuses. SUNY also gave campuses authority to allocate College Fee revenue at their discretion.

Some campuses, including the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, utilize the College Fee to fund activities in support of various ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ operations. At UB, this fee now supports the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Police and provides supplemental support for the academic mission of the university.
