EDI Mandatory Compliance Child Protection EDI Live Sessions Other UB Training

New York State requires all employers to provide annual, interactive sexual harassment prevention training to all employees.

In addition, SUNY mandates that all paid faculty, staff, students, and student leaders complete annual Title VI training.

As part of this annual training, an optional learning module on Accessibility and Accommodations is also included to support a more inclusive and equitable campus environment.

Multiple Training Options

Since EDI recognizes that employees have differing preferences, scheduling demands and learning styles, we offer two training options.

Live Zoom Training Sessions

You may prefer to attend a live training session instead of taking the online training modules. EDI offers a combined, 60-minute training covering the topics of sexual harassment prevention and Title VI. This training also provides a brief overview of accessibility requirements and the process for requesting accommodations for disabilities.

UB Learns Online Training

EDI has developed an online program that meets all New York State requirements for Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, SUNY Title VI Training, and Accessibility and Accommodations. Each course is delivered as a learning module in UB Learns and includes two components:

Training Presentation

A narrated PowerPoint that explains:

  • Key definitions and concepts
  • Examples of inappropriate conduct or content
  • How to report concerns internally and externally
  • Protections against retaliation
  • Responsibilities of supervisors and managers when they become aware of misconduct

The program also informs faculty and professional staff of their obligations to report incidents of sexual harassment, sexual violence, racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism, and other inappropriate speech or social media content and conduct disclosed by students or otherwise brought to their attention.

Post-Training Quiz and Policy Acknowledgment

A short quiz to reinforce learning, followed by an acknowledgment of the university’s:

  • Discrimination and Harassment Policy
  • Reasonable Accommodation Policy
  • Free Expression at UB Statement
