We set the standard for sustainability.

If you’re passionate about sustainability, you’re in the right place. UB is No. 2 in the U.S. for climate action (2024 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings). We use research and education and lead by example to set the standard for public research universities, reducing our own environmental impact along the way. Visit UB Sustainability to see how UB is mobilizing to heal the planet.

UB students, faculty and staff come to Buffalo from across the country and around the globe. When you become a UB student, you’ll take your place in a welcoming, inclusive community that values your experiences. UB’s Intercultural and Diversity Center (IDC) is a supportive resource for all students at UB. The IDC fosters a sense of belonging among students and organizes events to help them broaden their perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of our society.

As a leading public university, UB is committed to confronting racism and systemic inequality. Through campus-wide initiatives—like the President’s Advisory Council on Race—we bring together students, faculty, staff and alumni to inform policies, programs and traditions. These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to equity, inclusion and lasting change.

UB is dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming environment for all LGBTQ+ students, faculty and staff. Support, resources, and community connections are available through the Lesbian/Gay Bisexual Transgender Alliance and other campus groups. At UB, everyone should feel secure, accepted, and empowered to be themselves among friends and allies.

Your wellbeing is the foundation for your success. From medical care and mental health resources to nutrition counseling and wellness coaching, UB offers comprehensive support to help you stay balanced, healthy and focused—both in and out of the classroom.
