Research Scientist

Dr. Furlani, returned to his roots in the Center for Computational Research as a Research Scientist, after retiring from Roswell Park Cancer Institute in 2024, where he served as Chief Information Officer.  He has a doctorate in Physical (Theoretical) Chemistry from the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, which he attended on an NSF Predoctoral Fellowship.

Areas of Support:

Dr. Furlani is PI on the National Science Foundation ACCESS Metrics Project which provides monitoring and reporting as well as data analytics on the nation’s advanced computing systems.   In this role, he oversees development of Open XDMoD, a widely used open-source tool for the management and optimization of advanced computing systems.
