Arts Education

The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Creative Arts Initiative is revitalizing UB's pioneering tradition creative disciplines and to foster opportunities for students to engage great art and interact with artists at the top of their fields.

“This course is deliberately designed to put students in direct contact with artists and arts organizations in a very topical way. Each semester will be very different based on what’s happening in Western New York.”  — David Felder

The purpose of Arts One is to introduce students to a wide range of artistic performance and creative activity. In the Fall the course is offered through the English department; in the Spring it is offered through the Music department.

CAI brings artists and performers of the highest caliber to UB for residencies, during which they conceptualize and create and/or perform new work while creatively interacting with faculty, students and Buffalo arts organizations.
