Commemorating Our True Blue Spirit
Celebrate one of UB's longest-standing traditions. Homecoming & Family Weekend, in collaboration with Spirit Week, is presented annually by Student Life, Student Association, Alumni Engagement and Intercollegiate Athletics. Students, alumni, family and friends come together to share their UB pride and passion each fall.
A Tradition of True Blue Spirit
Spirit Week, Homecoming and Family Weekend welcomes UB alumni back to their alma mater and provides an opportunity for parents and families to visit with current students. The earliest mention of a UB Homecoming football game in the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Archives' records is from November 6, 1924 and the Bulls have been celebrating ever since.
The naming of a Homecoming Queen began as early as 1948.
The Engineering Club creates a wooden version of the opposing team's mascot to set ablaze during the annual bonfire.
UB has more than 273,000 alumni living in 150 countries worldwide.
Contestants in the annual chicken wing eating contest eat an average of 5-8 chicken wings in under a minute.
The Marching Band recently celebrated its 100-year anniversary by inviting alumni to play on the field during Homecoming weekend.
The Bulls' first Homecoming football opponent (1924) was the Hobart Statesmen.
