Creating a welcoming arrival experience into the Ellicott Complex.

A “front door” to the Ellicott Complex on North Campus

The Fargo quad is the primary gateway to the Ellicott Complex when approaching from the campus core. The Landing at Ellicott project creates a more legible and welcoming arrival experience into the Ellicott residential complex.

The goals of this projects included:

  • Creation of a front door for the Ellicott Complex
  • Improved circulation and way-finding through Ellicott
  • Space for community engagement
    • Social staircase
    • Study areas
    • Flexible lounges
    • Front-facing points of service
    • Courtyard patio

The Landing also features an award-winning True Blue tour room giving both families and prospective students a glimpse at what living on campus might look like.

Timing

  • Project kick-off: December 2021
  • Design work: December 2022
  • Construction kick-off: May 2023
  • Opened: Fall 2024
  • Formal Opening Celebration: January 2025
