Wilson Greatbatch to Speak At Dental School Seminar

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Wilson Greatbatch, a member of the National Inventors Hall of Fame whose research led to the development of the implantable pacemaker, will be featured speaker at a seminar titled "The Coalescence of the Sciences," sponsored by the Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences in the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ School of Dental Medicine.

The seminar will be held at 8 a.m. on May 14 in 357 Squire Hall on the UB South (Main Street) Campus. It is open to the public and there is no admission charge.

Greatbatch graduated from Cornell ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ and holds a master's degree in engineering from UB. He taught in the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences from 1952-57 and remains an adjunct professor at both UB and Cornell.

Founder of Wilson Greatbatch Ltd., he holds more than 150 patents and is currently working on several projects.
