Blackstone LaunchPad is changing its name, expanding its reach and growing into a larger space on the North Campus.

The support program provides critical mentorship and funding for promising startups.

Speakers include "Jeopardy!" champion Amy Schneider, journalist Nicholas Thompson and legal scholar Nita Farahany, author Heather McGhee, and poet Amanda Gorman.

This marks the second year that the program has received this award.

The clinic focuses on unemployment benefits issues, protecting the civil rights of veterans, examining possible civil responses to racially motivated violence and more.

Prize money will allow Journey’s End Refugee Services to implement the UB team’s standout project.

Joyner, who represents portions of The Bronx and surrounding communities, earned a JD from UB in 2012.

Festivities conclude this weekend with two of UB’s largest commencements.
