Jaekyung Lee is an expert on educational policy. He can discuss how today’s standardized test-driven culture impacts education, including academic performance and achievement gaps among different racial and social groups of students.

Lee’s research challenges the myth that high-performing Asian countries’ education systems are a model for academic success for all students. He American education has unique strengths, and recommends that education reform be a balancing act that fixes the weaknesses of schools without undermining existing strengths such as diversity, creativity and innovation.

Lee is author of “The Anatomy of Achievement Gaps: Why and How American Education is Losing (But Can Still Win) the War on Underachievement” (Oxford ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Press).
