The CTSI Workforce Development Core provides educational programs designed to increase the clinical and translational knowledge base of trainees across the entire spectrum from undergraduates to faculty. We help researchers assemble and sustain multidisciplinary clinical research teams with the right chemistry for success and to quantify, measure, and better understand the principles of effective teamwork.
Through CTSI Core Competency Workshops, Buffalo Translational Consortium researchers, staff, and trainees are presented with an efficient approach to developing and enhancing research skills. We offer workshops in subject areas deemed essential to researchers in clinical and translational science by NCATS. The workshops are tailored to meet the needs of a variety of researchers from multiple disciplines including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, social work, and public health.
Another key offering from the core is CTSI Distinguished Speaker Seminars. These presentations feature important topics in clinical and translational science presented by world-renowned speakers. Through the seminars, the CTSI partners with UB’s six health sciences schools and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center to sponsor a round of visiting scholars in the forefront of their respective disciplines. The goal is to expose faculty, trainees and students to pathways in clinical and translational research.
