Stress, coping

Head shot of Mark Seery, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ expert on stress and coping.

Test taking, job interviews, competition, approaching a romantic partner and public speaking can all induce stress, but what factors contribute to resilience versus vulnerability to potential stressors?

When and how does an individual’s self-esteem, troubled past or current relationships serve as a resource or a vulnerability?

Mark Seery’s work tries to answer these questions. Research conducted in Seery’s laboratory incorporates a range of methodological approaches, including theoretically grounded psychophysiological measures.
