Are you looking to learn more about AI and how to incorporate it into your teaching? SUNY is partnering with Lumen to provide free access to the Lumen Circle Fellowship Program.

Lumen Circles are faculty professional development experiences that use virtual learning communities to connect faculty members with peers from across the United States and help them hone their expertise as student-centered teachers. Grounded in evidence-based teaching practices and self-reflection, Lumen Circles work well for any faculty member, in any discipline, and at any stage of career.

Through the Lumen/SUNY agreement, UB has been given the opportunity to recruit institution-specific cohorts for the Lumen Circles centering around AI-enabled pedagogy.

Fall 2025 cohort details

Two new Lumen Circles will launch this fall at UB: Evidence-Based Teaching Using Generative AI and Advanced Generative AI for Teaching & Learning. Orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21 at 12:00 p.m. via Zoom and will last 90 minutes; a recording will be available for those unable to attend. Both circles begin on Wednesday, September 10 and run for nine weeks in an asynchronous format with regular deadlines for coursework and reflection. Each circle is limited to 18 faculty participants, so early registration is encouraged.
