Identity-Based Affinity Networks

Our Commitment to Inclusion and Belonging

We are committed to creating a culture where all people are safe, heard, valued and celebrated; where all people can be themselves and feel a part of the UB community.

What are Identity-Based Affinity Networks?

Identity-Based Affinity (IBA) Networks serve as a space for you to connect with alumni and current students based on similar cultural, racial/ethnic, personal identities and lived experiences.

Although these networks are identity-specific, they are also intersectional, and you are encouraged to join any and all groups you identify with.

IBA Networks

We welcome all alumni to join the following networks.

Please note, by clicking a link to join a network, you will be leaving the UB Alumni website and redirected to Connect-a-Bull, our external platform for identity-based alumni networks and other engagement opportunities. Please note that you will need to register separately on Connect-a-Bull to join and participate in these communities.

Identity-Based Councils

To build community and create space for deeper authenticity and honesty, you are invited to join one of our identity-based alumni councils.

  • Asian/Pacific Islander Alumni Council
  • Black Alumni Council
  • First-Generation Alumni Council
  • Hispanic/Latin Alumni Council
  • Indigenous Alumni Council
  • LGBTQIA+ Alumni Council
  • Veteran Alumni Council

Are you interested in joining an Identity-Based Alumni Council? for more information. If you are interested in starting a different identity-based affinity network, please let us know!
