We are committed to creating a culture where all people are safe, heard, valued and celebrated; where all people can be themselves and feel a part of the UB community.

What are Identity-Based Affinity Networks?

Identity-Based Affinity (IBA) Networks serve as a space for you to connect with alumni and current students based on similar cultural, racial/ethnic, personal identities and lived experiences.

Although these networks are identity-specific, they are also intersectional, and you are encouraged to join any and all groups you identify with.

IBA Networks

We welcome all alumni to join the following networks.

The Alumni of Color (AOC) Network seeks to promote and enhance the interests, needs and experiences of alumni from historically marginalized racial and ethnic communities.

The First-Generation Alumni Network seeks to promote and enhance the interests, needs and experiences of alumni whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not received a four-year bachelor’s degree at the time of the person’s first application for admission to the university, or the student’s first application for financial aid at UB.

The LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network seeks to promote and enhance the interests, needs and experiences of alumni who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual and/or any other gender diverse identity.

The Veteran Alumni Network seeks to promote and enhance the interests, needs and experiences of alumni who have served/currently serve in the U.S. armed forces.

Women-Focused Programming seeks to promote and develop programs and services that serve the interests, needs and experiences of alumni who identify as women.
